Vintage Sinai Bedouin Tribal Face Veil

This is a vintage face veil worn by a bedouin tribe of the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. The face veil ties around the back of the head, and then the cap is worn on top of the head with the single weight running down the back of the neck, as seen in the second photo. The fabric is hand stitched with beads, chain, cowrie shells, and dozens of old coins. This piece likely dates to the late 20th century, though the coins are much older.

Most of the coins look to be Ottoman, most are dated 1223, which would make them 1808 in the Gregorian calendar. There are also Egyptian milliemes from 1917, an Israeli agorah coin, a Cairo public transportation coin, and at least one coin dated 1972, which is the reason I dated this piece to the 1970s.
