Vintage Sinai Bedouin Tribal Face Veil
This is a vintage face veil worn by a bedouin tribe of the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. The red fabric is stitched with beads, chain and dozens of old coins. The headband is hand embroidered. This piece likely dates to the mid 20th century, though the coins are much older. All of the coins look to be Ottoman, most are dated 1223, which would make them 1808 in the Gregorian calendar.
