This is an antique chromolithograph that dates to 1894. The original fresco in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome was painted by Pinturicchio (Bernardino di Betto), a famous Renaissance painter, between 1488-90. This print was drawn by Signor Fattorini and chromolithographed by Wilhelm Greve, Berlin. The scene is the Adoration of the Christ Child, with St. Jerome and his lion attending in the left foreground.
This lithograph is matted with gold leaf and framed with glass. Gold details are on the halos, garments, and the star behind the trees.
